Here is what impacted me from Burke's talk - The “center line” for building community is staying connected with God through a relationship with Jesus Christ. This is freeing for all leaders because small group leaders are not responsible for changing people. Instead, they are called to encourage their group members to remain connected to Christ and let God work in their lives. This “center line” for community will lead to healing for our self-consumed lives and lead us toward live in community to love and be loved, to serve and be served.

If we aren't doing the thing Jesus said is necessary, what are we accomplishing? Nothing! Spiritual growth is scandalously simple: stay connected and fruit happens!
